My name is Alastair Archibald. I am a qualified electronics engineer with over ten years' experience in the space industry. I currently work as the quality assurance manager at AirSense Technology Ltd., an electronics company manufacturing high sensitivity aspirating smoke detectors in the south-east of England.

 I began writing "A Mage in the Making" in 1992 while undertaking weekly business trips to France. The handwritten original, written in a piecemeal style, bears very little resemblance to the current version, In 2004, I joined www.fanstory.com and began again from scratch. By August, I had finished the book and begun to write "Weapon of the Guild." At the end of the year, I became Fanstory's Author of the Year. Having spent twelve years writing "Mage", I began to write on a regular basis, and I have written a further five books since then. The expected climax to the series, "Redemption" is currently in progress.
